Karim Rida Said Foundation Scholarships for Master’s Students in UK, 2014/15
The Said Foundation funds a number of master’s scholarships each academic year at Oxford and Cambridge. Scholarships are available for pursuing Postgraduate/PhD/Dphil degree at selected UK partner universities and Oxford and Cambridge universities. Applicants from Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine as well as Palestinians living inside Israel are eligible for this postgraduate scholarship. Applicants must be 35 years of age and have the equivalent of a UK Upper Second Class (2:1) degree or above. English language proficiency is required. Scholarship covers full or partial scholarships depending on applicant’s needs. Online application must be submitted by 5 January 2014.
Study Subject(s): The scholarship is provided to learn any of the courses offered by the selected UK partner universities and Oxford and Cambridge universities.
Course Level: This scholarship is for pursuing postgraduate and PhD/DPhil at selected UK partner universities and PhDs at Oxford and Cambridge universities only.

Eligibility: Applications are restricted to candidates from the Foundation’s target countries of Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine as well as Palestinians living inside Israel.

-Applicants are advised to ensure their applications are completed to a high standard and submitted with offer letters from universities and IELTS results.

Scholarship Description: The Said Foundation Scholarships Programme aims to promote education and development in the Middle East and to provide students and young professionals with educational opportunities that will help their career development, enable them to achieve impact in their professional fields and bring benefits to others in their countries of origin. To this end, the Foundation offers around twenty postgraduate scholarships annually to outstanding individuals who demonstrate the potential to become leaders and innovators of change. Scholarships are primarily offered for one year postgraduate courses but in exceptional circumstances it may be possible to consider applicants for two year courses. The Foundation also offers one or two PhD/DPhil scholarships a year at Oxford and Cambridge universities only.

What does it cover? The Foundation can provide full or partial scholarships depending on your needs. If you have some funding available from family, employers, other scholarship providers, the Foundation can consider you for partial funding.
Notification: The Foundation’s Student Committee meets in April to make their final selection and candidates will be informed of the outcome of their application immediately.

You must complete the Application Form for Graduate Study 2014-15 to be considered for entry to a postgraduate course at Oxford. This form also allows you to apply for Said Foundation scholarships. There is an application fee of GBP£50 for each course you apply for.

Applicants who wish to be considered for graduate admission to the University of Cambridge and for funding offered by the Cambridge Trusts (including the Said Foundation Cambridge Scholarships) for entry in October 2014must complete and submit the ‘GRADSAF’ application form to the University’s Graduate Admissions office no later than3 December 2013(or the course deadline, whichever is earlier).Applications open on 1 September 2013.
